         "I enjoy working with bright, competent people."  That is the way Jan Tunnell described her reasons for being a member of the League of Women Voters of Orange County.  Presumably, that is also the reason she is a founding member of the GPN of Central Florida.

     At our August membership meeting at United Way, Jan described  the League's continuing efforts to secure "fair districting" for Florida.
        One of the results of the League's efforts is the presence on the November ballot of proposed state constitution amendments 5 and 6.   According to Jan, the amendments are designed to prevent the kind of redistricting that favors incumbent lawmakers.  She suggested obtaining more information by going to: www.FairDistrictsFlorida.org.
        As has become our custom, GPN President, John O'Connor presented Jan with a hand-made pottery bowl created by GPN member T J Ciocca at the Orlando Pottery Studio.
